Sun 21 Oct - Burra SA

A very slow morning and we decided on a down-day as Di had not been well. So, we deferred our bike ride on the Riesling trail until Monday.

We left our camp site at 11am and headed to Clare. We were not impressed with the town so did not spend long there and instead headed to Annie's Lane winery after a quick Woolies shopping trip to get some lunch provisions.

Annie's Lane is another nice winery with picnic tables overlooking the vines. Beautiful weather and location. We bought a nice bottle of 2010 Quelltaler Shiraz/Cab as it was a "cellar door only release", but it was not cheap.

After lunch we drove for a while to explore the valley - even going to Blyth, which really has nothing open. On the way we stopped at Brooks lookout, a generous sharing of land by a local farmer. Nice view - but not as good as Spring Gully.

Finally needed to fill the van with diesel - after filling last at Broken Hill before Mutiwinji National Park. Great fuel economy - easy 850km per tank.

Dinner was soup from Woolies for Di and leftover Massaman curry for Hans.

The weather after dark turned very cold with a strong wind blowing so we retired to read in the van.
